Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program - Canada

The government of Alberta has introduced this program to support Alberta’s economy. Applicants who are skilled and experienced are qualified for Alberta Provincial Nomination Certification which is a first step in entire immigration process and afterwards Permanent Residency under this province.

There are three major streams of AINP:

• Strategic Recruitment
• Employer Driver
• Self-Employed Farmer

Sub-categories of these streams are following:

Strategic Recruitment Stream

Under this stream the applicant apply for the AINP without the support of an employer. This stream comprises of three different categories:

Compulsory and Optional Trades Category

Applicants who are traders meet the eligibility of this category if they have Recognized trade Certificate or Alberta Qualification Certificate, either one of them. At the time of applying, the application, the traders must reside in the province with a valid work permit.

Post Graduate Worker Category

The applicants are eligible under this category if they have a post graduate degree from institution of Alberta and working in the same province with a valid work permit.

Employer Driven Stream

Individuals who are skilled workers and experienced are eligible for AINP and permanent residency. Employers will have the job satisfaction through this stream and the employers will have the best choice. This stream is divided into three sub-categories which are as follows:

Skilled Worker Category

Applicants who are working under a qualifying skilled occupation for full time and their job is permanent are eligible for this stream. Even if they are not working in this Province, applicants can apply to this stream.

International Graduate Category

This category requires a post graduate degree from a renowned post-secondary institution in Canada, own a work permit and have a full time permanent job offer from an employer.

Semi-Skilled Worker Category

The applicants who are temporary foreign workers, hold a post-graduation work permit, full time and permanent job offer from an employer are eligible for this category.

Self-Employed Farmer Stream

People who have an experience in farming and have funds to purchase farm in the province are eligible for the Self-Employed Farmer Stream and permanent residency in the province.

AINP application processing

AINP applications are processed based on:

• Information received from the labor market
• The mass of applications received
• Date of the application when received
